take two

I think that the toughest part of touring a program is keeping it fresh from night to night.  I spend about an hour each night in my hotel room thinking about the music, studying the score, or searching the internet for new inspiration.

Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune is a gorgeous, sumptuous work inspired by Mallarmé's poem entitled L'après-midi d'un faune.  When we started working on this transcription a year ago, my French was not as strong; based on my limited understanding of the poem, we created a very dreamy, ethereal interpretation.  Boy howdy, were we wrong:
